Marissa Salazar leads the White Allyship & Race Project (WARP) research lab which tackles issues of anti-racism and race within higher education and emerging adult populations.
WARP has two ongoing projects:
- White Allyship – using mixed methods approaches to understand how individual factors and the role of the college context affect White allyship development among emerging adults
- Social Justice Curriculum – evaluating social justice community-based programs; investigating perceptions of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and developing anti-racist curricula
“Accordingly, while no one liberates themselves by their own efforts alone, neither are they liberated by others.”
Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed
